Shot on location at the Red Piano Too Art Gallery, Artist Henrimae Bell shares her works and her story. Her art is influenced by her African America heritage, southern roots, love for adventurous travel and her relationship with God. These elements inspire her to create images from her heart, spirit and soul.
A. I. Davis originates from the republic of Harlem and now calls Beaufort, South Carolina “home.” Davis is a multi-talented artist, most noted for his wood and bronze sculptures. He invokes the Spirits of the “Middle Passage” and the Griot tones that constantly resonate in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Over the years Fireall continues to develop his drawing skills by painting scenes from daily life in his neighborhood. The Red Piano Too Art Gallery recognized his talent and has successfully sold his work to clients from around the world.
Now approaching it’s 20th year, the Red Piano Too Art Gallery is on historic and picturesque St. Helena Island; in the renovated, original Corner Co-op building. The gallery is one-quarter mile from the National Historic Landmark District that is Penn Center. The gallery collection represents the work of over 150 artists - folk, fine, and craft, past and present.
The third grade students of James J. Davis Elementary School studied and painted their version of low country life. Students closely analyzed the art of Jonathan Green who is widely regarded as one of the most important painters of the Gullah culture and southern life.
